First week activities

We had a busy first week of school!  The students had to work in groups to "Save Freddy!"  (Several groups learning what the word "persistence" meant!)  And, we used very darling baby pictures to play a guessing game!  I think we had a great week and learned so much about each other!

Social Studies Taste Fest

Students were studying the impact of immigration on culture in the United States.  The students also studied the push factors, such as, lack of freedom, war and famine and the pull factors, like freedom, family and economic opportunities that forced people to immigrate.   In "celebrating" our cultures, the students brought in a dish from a country of their ancestors.  We enjoyed a cultural "taste-fest!"
